Every creation myth needs a devil.
Every devil craves an adversary
Who will slay him by the heel of her feet.
And so we must thrive within this duel of thoughts,
We who are flowers between awful monsoons.
The majesties yawn a little and we drown in their temples.
We are anchored on water and pray to the tides:
“O, bring us clarity because our vision is frightened.”
Each timorous gaze cannot discern; it is afraid.

Postscript: I watched again a cleaner copy of the movie. Definitely a classic. I wish this was a required material during our history or humanities classes.
